My Latest Bio-hack: DIM for the Win!

How many of my wise women out here are experiencing peri-menopause or menopause? I am in the infamous first year year of no monthly cycle and embarking on this soulful journey! Overall, I feel pretty damn good – sharing why, in hopes you can learn how to feel good too!

Recall: my previous blog (Leaning Into Menopause) explains what I was taking to naturally balance my hormones, so please start there. I am not on any hormone replacement therapies at all! I’ve helped many women with my own successful experience – such a heartwarming feeling!

My current menopause supplements: Menofit, Well Rested (both by Menolabs) and Nature’s Way DIM.

My latest bio-hack is the natural supplement called DIM (Dilndoly Methan). It is a phyto-nutrient derived from cruciferous vegetables. After taking DIM for a month, I noticed a weight loss of 7 pounds (during peri-menopause, I had gained approximately 12 pounds from my previous weight loss of 50 pounds in my late forties).

DIM helps our body eliminate excess estrogen levels that occur during peri-menopause and menopause, when progesterone levels drop – otherwise called, estrogen dominance.

Estrogen dominance is reported to cause a host of health issues, such a breast and uterine cancer and obesity in women. It also stalls your metabolism, thus making it difficult to lose excess weight.

In middle-aged men, estrogen dominance (when testosterone drops) accumulates in the prostate gland, leading to benign prostatic hypertrophy.

We’d have to eat a boatload (reportedly up to 2 pounds) of cruciferous veggies a day to make a difference, so it’s DIM for the win!
